Pundit claims this Man Utd star may consider leaving

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has claimed that Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford may have to leave the club in search for first team football.

Alexis Sanchez’s arrival from the Gunners in January sparked a debate on what the move could mean for United’s youngsters.

Anthony Martial and Rashford in particular have been the ones who the press are seemingly concerned about given the position they share.

Both players play in Sanchez’s preferred left wing position and some people have claimed he will derail their development.

Henry appears to be on board with that assessment and thinks there may come a time for Marcus to reconsider his position at the club.

According to Goal, Thierry said on Sky Sports: “One of the most important things for me is that you have to play. You cannot be on the bench and missing games, missing learning about the game and stopping that momentum, and an example is Rashford.

“Michael Owen had the opportunity to back up what he did the year before because he played, and he played, and he played, and he played – and I can give you more examples.

“But Rashford at times could not capitalise on what he did from that year [after his debut], because sometimes he is playing on the right, [sometimes] on the left.

“Leave is a strong word. Obviously being from there, he wants to play for United. But he has to play and it is becoming even more difficult for him since Sanchez has arrived.

“I think at the end of the season, he is maybe going to have a thinking day of ‘do I stay?’”

Thierry Henry as well as the other pundits or critics’ assessment of the situation seems to be a little unfounded given how things actually are.

Anthony’s game time has not decreased at all since the Chileans arrival to the club whilst Marcus Rashford missed, for the first time this season, the Red Devils’ match squad due to injury and not Alexis Sanchez.

The Englishman has been heavily involved with Manchester United this season just as he had been last seen with Jose Mourinho showing him preferential treatment.

Perhaps the reason why some people are concerned is due to Sanchez’s arrival coinciding with Rashford’s poor form which has seen him drop to the bench.

In fact, it’s Anthony Martial who has overtaken the academy product due to his own good form that allowed him to win the January player of the month for Manchester United.

QPR's Goss reveals which Man Utd legend helped him

Former Manchester United player Sean Goss has revealed that Paul Scholes helped him during his time at Old Trafford when he was a youngster.

The German born Englishman left to QPR last season but was an important figure in United’s academy where he won two U21 Premier League titles.

Scholes of course was a one club man, working his way up the ranks to become a club icon where he won a host of individual and team trophies.

When the Englishman eventually did retire he temporarily worked with the club’s younger teams, helping pass on all his experience.

Goss was one of the players who worked directly with Paul and was in absolute awe of his talent as most professional footballers were.

According to Get West London, Sean said to the Scottish Sun: “We’d a few sessions just doing ball work then progressing on. His [Paul Scholes’] technique was unbelievable.

“You could never turn your back on the training pitch. Even when you were going for a drink, you had to lower your head, or he’d hit you with the ball.

“All the senior pros at United were great. There’s a tight bond between the first team and youth players, they want to help you out. I’d go out after training to practise my free kicks.

“Paul gave us a bit of a head start as well, because he was our Under-19s manager for the Champions League too. I’d try to copy him and also David Beckham when I was really young.”

Sean Goss sadly left the Red Devils who rated him highly due to his desire to play first team football consistently as it looked difficult to break into the current squad at the club.

The midfielder is now at Rangers, on loan from his parent club, as he attempts to establish himself as a talented player and not just a youngster.

At 22 years of age, he’s perfectly set up to impress abroad before returning to London and blowing the Championship away.

Paul Scholes is certainly the ideal player to look up to for Goss, particularly as he plays in the same position and can learn directly from the legend’s game.

Whether Sean returns in the future to United as Paul Pogba did is yet to be seen but Jose Mourinho already has a young central midfielder in the form of Scott McTominay.

Pundit slams this Man Utd star for being 'predictable'

Former Chelsea player Tony Cascarino did not hold back in his assessment of Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku, calling the player ‘predictable’.

The Belgian has come in for his fair share of criticism this season and after not scoring during the club’s loss against Newcastle, received even more from the pundit.

Lukaku though was perhaps United’s best player on the day, winning arial battles, putting passes on a plate for his teammates and holding the ball up well.

The striker truly showed how his link up play has improved since coming to Old Trafford but still sees himself harshly critiqued.

Cascarino though simply believes the Red Devils’ stature means they shouldn’t have employed a ‘predictable’ striker in Romelu.

According to the Daily Star, Tony wrote in The Times: “Man City, Liverpool, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain: the most exciting teams in Europe have flexible, free-flowing attackers.

“Manchester United have a fixed point in their striker Romelu Lukaku and are therefore predictable. I feel for Lukaku as it’s not his fault, but United’s formulaic style does not suit Alexis Sanchez.

“They have spent all that money but are such a long way from the days of Carlos Tevez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney. If they are to be a success with Sanchez I don’t see how Lukaku fits in, particularly for tough away games.”

This isn’t the first time Romelu Lukaku’s movement has been called into question but it’s done so a little harshly by Tony Cascarino.

The former Everton man does have a tendency to run to the far post in order to score his goals but it’s perhaps due to old habits and less so to do with his predictability.

Also, the cliche “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” comes to mind in regards to Lukaku as he’s proven himself to be a more than capable goalscorer.

Varied movement will certainly help the powerful forward but it will all come in time as he adjusts to leading the line for one of the top clubs in England.

Back at Everton he wasn’t really required to link things together as he is at United and he’s added that to his game so there’s no reason to believe he can’t improve his movement as well.

Mourinho explains why he substituted this Man Utd star during defeat to Newcastle

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has explained why he bizarrely substituted Paul Pogba during the defeat to Newcastle United.

The two clubs clashed in the Premier League fixture on Sunday afternoon and it was the Magpies who came away with the 1-0 along with all three points.

Fans were frustrated with many aspects of the game but were particularly upset with the decision to substitute one of their key players when United clearly needed more firepower to try to win.

Some supporters pointed out that Pogba was possible injured as he seemed to struggle during the match and there was a little worry in the pre-match warm-up.

However, Mourinho has since denied that the Frenchman was injured and offered a different reason for why he took him off the field.

According to Football365, Jose said to Sky Sports: “I wanted a better way to come out in the first phase against a team that was defending in a very compact block.

“I was trying that with the simplicity of Michael Carrick because he tries to make everything simple and bring Alexis close to an area to Lukaku where he could be like a second striker to try to win the game.”

The Portuguese manager’s explanation possibly makes things worse, not better and adds more confusion to the already puzzling situation.

With the Red Devils 1-0 down, Jose Mourinho opted to bring in the likes of Michael Carrick and Scott McTominay on the field when it was so clear that the team needed more attacking impetus.

Many fans questioned the former Chelsea boss’s tactics in the first place, wondering why he insists on using a 4-2-3-1 formation when the 4-3-3 so clearly suits Paul Pogba more.

Manchester United played a few times with the latter formation and it always seemed to bring out the best of the team as well as the former Juventus man.

Pundit blames this Man Utd star for Pogba's 'suffering'

Former Arsenal man Martin Keown has surprisingly blamed Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard for Paul Pogba’s recent struggles.

Whilst most fans have attributed the Frenchman’s downturn in form to Jose Mourinho’s tactics, the pundit opted to point the finger at the Englishman.

Lingard has been in good form this season, moving from an outsider to one of the first names on the team sheet as he continues progressing.

His performances have been so good that Mourinho has even decided to move him inwards from the wings to allow him to play in his preferred position as an attacking midfielder.

Keown has at least acknowledged Jesse’s form but has blamed it for the reason why Pogba isn’t at his best as he’s unable to foray forward as much.

According to Give Me Sport, Martin wrote in his Daily Mail column: “Pogba has suffered from the fact that Jesse Lingard is prospering in this Manchester United team.

“The Frenchman is at his best when he is in the final third hitting shots, going at defenders, being creative and making those buccaneering runs into the box.

“At Juventus, he would often have a midfielder like Andrea Pirlo sitting deeper which allowed him to express himself higher up the pitch.

“He cannot do that when he is made to play deeper but the form of Lingard is keeping him from that more advanced position.”

There may be some truth to Martin Keown’s words as fans have struggled to understand why Jose persists with the 4-2-3-1 formation when the Red Devils have enjoyed themselves in the 4-3-3.

United’s best games have happened when the latter formation was employed but of course it means that the lack of an attacking midfielder would leave Jesse Lingard on the bench.

There’s possibly room for him on the wings but with Alexis Sanchez’s arrival and Anthony Martial‘s undroppable form, it’s unlikely he could feature there.

Jose Mourinho has to be careful to not fall into the same trap his predecessors did in trying to fit all of the club’s stars in the same line-up in expense for proper balance and eye-catching fluidity.

Man Utd legend blasts these two defensive stars

Manchester United legend Phil Neville has destroyed the club’s defensive partnership of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling following the result against Newcastle.

The Magpies managed to grab a 1-0 win over Jose Mourinho’s men in a devastating loss to the club due to the impact it had on the Premier League table.

League leaders Manchester City now hold a 16 point advantage over United who now must be concerned with the clubs below them that are chasing the Champions League spots in the table.

Both Jones and Smalling were involved in the defeat and were heavily criticised for their performances as frustrations continue to grow.

Neville, who once played as a defender for the Red Devils, got involved with the criticism and didn’t not hold back in his assessment of the English pair.

According to Give Me Sport, Phil said: “They have got the best defensive record because they have the best goalkeeper in the world in David De Gea and [Nemanja] Matic out in front who protects them really well.

“But the last two away games [against Tottenham and Newcastle], Smalling and Jones have been a disaster. Against Dele Alli and Harry Kane, they got bullied.

“Against Newcastle, did they make many mistakes? No, but they created a nervousness and a tension. They were making decisions that were strange.

“They were making decisions all day where you were thinking: ‘What are you doing?’ They brought these two as the best young centre-backs in England.”

Chris and Phil were once expected to be Manchester United’s first choice pairing when brought in as youngsters and whilst that may temporarily be true, no one would’ve thought this would be the case.

It’s fair to say neither player fulfilled their potential and there’s hints that Mourinho feels the same way as he brought in both Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof to solve the problem.

Unfortunately Bailly has suffered with a few injuries and Lindelof is of course adjusting to his new surroundings, although there were moments of brilliance from him.

One would expect that Eric and Victor will become the new centre-back partnership for United and it’s one that has a lot of potential but fans will be a little more skeptic this time around.

Man Utd legend blasts club's performance vs Newcastle

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has blasted his former team’s performance vs Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Jose Mourinho’s men lost 1-0 to the Magpies who were more determined and hungry for the result which helped further open the gap to the league leaders Manchester City to 16 points.

United are now surely too far behind to catch up with their fierce rivals and their attentions must turn towards solidifying their second place.

Any more similar results will certainly see them fall down the table as Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham all continue to chase the Champions League positions.

Neville believes that the talent is there for the Red Devils but they must fix their attitudes or mentality if they wish to eventually win the Premier League title.

According to Goal, Gary said on his podcast for Sky Sports: “The individual talent is there but to coordinate that into a team is Jose Mourinho’s job in the next few months. He has to make them into a team.

“They look like a team that play five per cent below the intensity that they can play at and should play at. That’s what Jose Mourinho has to do.

“He has to mould this talented group of players into a team that can come together and can win the title. Next season will be Jose’s third season and you would think in his mind, and in everyone’s minds, that he has to win it next season. They have to start preparing now.

“I still think they will finish second and they are still in the FA Cup and Champions League so there is a lot to play for, but they still have these moments where they let games drift.

“They miss chances, they are sloppy in the final third so many times and they have to improve that. They have to become killers in the final third and they are not at the moment.”

Gary Neville’s assessment isn’t far from the truth, most Manchester United fans believe their players don’t know what it truly means to represent the badge and therefore don’t fight for results.

Many believe the club’s winning mentality has practically evaporated and whilst the current squad of players are undoubtedly talented, there’s a real like of positive mentality.

Complacency consistently affects this squad who appear to think that they deserve a win simply because they represent United and seem to have forgotten that their opposition will always fight for a result.

The issue of gelling isn’t necessarily true as the players proved to be fluid earlier in the season and it’s probably more a case of a lack of balance in the team.

Mourinho target prefers Man City, Man Utd ready to make him their highest earner

Real Madrid midfielder Isco has been linked with a move away from the club in the recent weeks.

Apparently, Zinedine Zidane is prepared to sell the player at the end of this season following a series of underwhelming performances.

The Spaniard has been left out of the squad a few times already this season and he might have to switch clubs in order to play more often.

As per the reports, Manchester City and Manchester United are keeping tabs on the player.

Jose Mourinho wants to add more creativity to his side and is ready to pay big money for the Real Madrid playmaker.

Don Balon adds that Mourinho is prepared to shell out 150 million Euros for the Real Madrid midfielder. Apparently, Mourinho is ready to make him the highest paid player in the squad along with Paul Pogba.

However, there is a feeling that Isco prefers to join Manchester City because of Pep’s style of football. Considering David Silva’s age, Isco could be a very good addition to the City squad. He could be the long-term replacement for the Manchester City legend.

Similarly, he would be a terrific addition to the United side as well. It will be interesting to see where he ends up at the end of this season.

Man Utd are interested in bringing in this Madrid star: report

Manchester United fans may be in for a treat after recent reports have linked the club with Real Madrid star Isco.

The Spaniard has apparently seen his match time decrease this season and there are rumours of manager Zinedine Zidane losing faith in him.

Should that be the case then it could be that United will be able to sign the attacking midfielder for a cheaper price than his actual value.

Isco is clearer one of the world’s best talents so it’s a little strange to think his time at Madrid has come to an end, particularly as Zidane appeared to favour him in the beginning.

Although there are questions of where he will play, supporters will surely just be excited to get their hands on such a talent and there may be added incentive of beating their rivals to the deal.

According to The Sport Review, Don Balon report that the Red Devils want to beat Manchester City in the transfer market once more by adding Isco to their ranks.

Manchester United just completed the signing of Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window which adds to the claims of some skeptics who believe the deal is not on.

Another concern is that the rumours are just there to help secure the Real man a new contract at his current club and possibly a pay raise.

Players around the world consistently link themselves with United just so that they could scare their own clubs into giving into their demands.

Man Utd legend tells Pogba to add this to his game

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has passed on some advice to Paul Pogba, telling him how he can improve his performances.

The Frenchman has perhaps unfairly come in for some criticism for his recent performances in central midfield with some fans claiming he lacks discipline.

Although he should certainly shoulder some blame, other supporters have pointed the finger at Jose Mourinho for failing to use him correctly.

Pogba has proven to be absolutely brilliant when playing in the 4-3-3 formation but seems to struggle when forced to play in the double pivot of a 4-2-3-1.

Neville believes that while this is true, the midfielder could add something else to his game to make him a better player for United.

Gary’s assessment of Paul as an individual is something that can be applied to other players in the Red Devils squad.

Some sections of fans have been absolutely disgusted with the club’s loss to Newcastle as they believe the quality of players are there and they’re simply not being used correctly.

A front four of Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial is as exciting as any on paper but for some reason they couldn’t take apart the relegation threatened opposition.

Lukaku had an extraordinary game in which he certainly didn’t deserve to be on the losing team but the others could’ve performed better perhaps.

Sanchez was impressive but was guilty of missing a chance as was Martial who was forced to play in the unnatural position of right wing.

Lingard meanwhile seems to have seen his purple patch of form come to an end and whilst he wasn’t poor, he could’ve been a bit more decisive as fans know he can be.
