Woman's Love of Vino Inspires a Fun 'Wine Workout' Series: 'I'm Glad it Makes People Laugh'

Megan Vaughan loves a few key things in life: her husband, working out and wine.

One night, the radio personality from Clarksville, Tennessee, decided to combine her loves into a “wine workout.”

“I came home from the gym and I had a glass of wine, and I was like, I’m in my workout clothes still, I bet if I put a straw in my wine I could do pushups,” Vaughan tells PEOPLE. Her husband thought it was “so dumb,” but she convinced him to film it.

“I posted it to my radio station’s Facebook page, and it got like, 27 million views. So I just kept making more!” she says.

Vaughan has since worked out with dumbbells rigged with wine glasses, gone for walks with a Black Box Camelbak, rolled out her abs with sips of wine and more. She doesn’t plan out the videos ahead of time — “inspiration just randomly hits,” she says, like the one of her lifting a barbell with a wine bottle duct taped on.

“We had just moved to Tennessee and I had unpacked our weight bar. And I thought, ooh, if I stuck a bottle of wine on that I could make a video. And my husband was like, here we go again,” she says, laughing. “But he’s in the Army and he knows all these MacGyver moves, so he got it on there and we filmed it, and I’m sure our new neighbors thought we were nuts.”

Vaughan emphasizes that her “wine workouts” are “just a joke.”

“It’s not like I really work out like that in real life,” she says. “Some people talk trash about it, saying that I’m promoting alcoholism, but it’s not. I’m very fit, I work out six days a week and I like a glass of wine at night. That’s it.”

Her only goal is to have fun.

“I’m glad that it makes people laugh,” Vaughan says. “That’s all I care about.”

(And for the record, she prefers red.)

Shakespeare Love! Tom Hanks and Wife Rita Wilson to Unite on Stage for Henry IV

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are taking their love to the main stage.

The actors will be starring in the Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles’s production of Henry IV this summer — the first time the two will star together on a play. Hanks is making his L.A. stage debut for the show, which will see him embody Sir John Falstaff.

The play will run from June 5 to July 1 at the Japanese garden on the Veterans Affairs’ West Los Angeles campus. Wilson’s role has yet to be revealed. The married couple has worked with the Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles before and have participated in their Simply Shakespeare readings for 26 years.

“I wish there was a secret, you know. We just like each other. You start there,” Hanks previously said about what it takes for a successful marriage. The two will celebrate their 30th anniversary this year.

“I still can’t believe my wife goes out with me,” he added. “If we were in high school and I was just funny, I’d never have the courage to talk to her.”

Hanks, who is currently starring as legendary newspaperman Ben Bradlee in Steven Spielberg’s The Post, said marriage to Wilson has been easy.

“They say it must be hard work. No it’s not,” Hanks said. “Every now and again you know, you gotta get over some stuff but life is one damn thing after another and its actually more pleasant to be able to go home with someone you like to spend time with in order to get with it.”

Gigi Hadid Says 'I Love My Body Now' After Hashimoto's Disease Diagnosis

After she was criticized for her weight, Gigi Hadid has opened up on why she loves her body no matter what people might say about her.

The supermodel, 22, revealed that she appreciates her physical appearance even more following her diagnosis of Hashimoto’s disease, an autoimmune condition that causes thyroid damage.

“I’ve loved my body when I was just diagnosed and I loved going through it and I love my body now,” Hadid told E! News at the Anna Sui show during New York Fashion Week on Monday.

“I think it’s good to be honest. I’ve talked about my experience with Hashimoto’s but a lot of people can connect with it,” the daughter of Yolanda Hadid shared about her illness.

Tottenham player reveals transfer desire, says he would love to play for this club

Tottenham player reveals transfer desire, says he would love to play for this club – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Tottenham forward Fernando Llorente has revealed that he misses playing for Juventus and that he would love to return to Turin.

The Spaniard has struggled to hold down a first team place at Spurs and he was linked with a move to Chelsea in January. However, the Blues opted to sign Olivier Giroud instead.

Meanwhile, Llorente’s comments will certainly fuel speculations surrounding his future at the London club now.

The former Juventus striker said that the Bianconeri are a big family and he misses the atmosphere at the Italian club. Llorente also revealed how emotional he was when he had to leave the club.

He said: “Juve is a difficult place to leave. I left the Vinovo training ground crying. It’s also true what David Trezeguet said: ‘It’s only when you leave Juventus that you realise what you had’. I miss it like crazy and would love to return. It’s a special club because, despite being an enormous club, it’s like a family inside. There is a fine image of Juventus here and I raise it even more: I always speak very highly of the Bianconeri and give them a good rep.”

Considering the fact that Llorente has failed to make a positive impact at Spurs, his departure is unlikely to make any difference to Pochettino’s side. The Londoners could use a younger and more mobile back up forward anyway.

It will be interesting to see whether the Spaniard decides to move on in the summer. Juventus already have Dybala and Higuain at their disposal and therefore a return to Turin seems unlikely at this stage.

Adam Rippon Jokes About Twitter's Love for Him After Olympic Debut: 'Maybe You Can Be on a Judging Panel Someday'

Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon loves Twitter — and it loves him right back.

Minutes after a free skate in the figure skating team event on Monday morning at the Winter Games in South Korea and Rippon, 28, was already a trending topic on the site in the U.S., with users alternately basking in his third-place finish and confusedly wondering how he came in behind Mikhail Kolyada, the Olympic athlete from Russia.

Less than a point separated them (though to judge solely by the audience’s reaction in the 12,000-seat Gangneung Ice Arena, Rippon appeared to have the more compelling skate).

“I can’t control the score,” Rippon, 28, tells PEOPLE not long after leaving the rink. “But to the people that were distressed — I hope maybe you can be on a judging panel someday.”

Speaking to reporters after he competed, Rippon said he was proud of his Olympic debut, both for himself and for what it contributed to America’s chances of a podium spot in the team event.

“I’m really excited that I was able to kind of go out there, show who I am, skate so strong,” he said, “and more than that, I really hope I can help Team USA get a medal today.”

Skating first to The Cinematic Orchestra’s “Arrival of the Birds” and then to “O” by Coldplay, and while he admitted to an attack of nerves just before taking the ice, Rippon seemed to skate without a hitch. As he finished, to waves of applause from the crowd, the moment caught up with him and celebration broke across his face.

“I hope there’s a skating judge who’s like, ‘Uh hey guys, Adam Rippon didn’t give us quads but he did give us THE TRUTH,’ ” writer Louis Virtel tweeted.

In recent days Rippon has become something of a social media sensation, both among spectators at home and celebrities (including Reese Witherspoon) who are charmed by his drive, wit and candor.

An alternate at the 2010 Winter Games who missed the cut in 2014, and already a history-maker for being the first openly gay athlete to ever compete for America in the Winter Olympics, Rippon said later that what he has accomplished in spite of his age — skating, as ever, privileges youth — and other obstacles is a victory he will never lose.

He has also not shied away from the role fame gives him as an advocate for the broader LGBTQ community.

PEOPLE’s special issue The Best of Olympic Figure Skating is available now in the Time Inc. store, on Amazon and wherever magazines are sold.

“I came here to do a job,” he said, “and I think that being vocal has kind of given my skating more importance. It’s not just for me. I got out there because — it’s not just gay kids, I think that everybody can relate to being different or feeling like they’re not good enough or they’ll never make it because they’re from a small town, or maybe they just don’t feel like they’re good enough.”

“Well I had those doubts too,” Rippon continued. “And I say that I can go out there and I want to show those young kids that anything is possible. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or what other people say about you, you can put that all behind you and you can go out there and show the world what you have to offer.”

And while he joked with PEOPLE about his impending individual mens performance (“I definitely want to get a few more points, talk to those people on Twitter”), he did not let the significance of the day slip past him.

“This is a moment I’ve been waiting for my entire life,” he said. “Now I’m actually an Olympian. They have footage, they can pull it up. We love the records. Let the record show: Adam Rippon is an Olympian.”
