QPR's Goss reveals which Man Utd legend helped him

Former Manchester United player Sean Goss has revealed that Paul Scholes helped him during his time at Old Trafford when he was a youngster.

The German born Englishman left to QPR last season but was an important figure in United’s academy where he won two U21 Premier League titles.

Scholes of course was a one club man, working his way up the ranks to become a club icon where he won a host of individual and team trophies.

When the Englishman eventually did retire he temporarily worked with the club’s younger teams, helping pass on all his experience.

Goss was one of the players who worked directly with Paul and was in absolute awe of his talent as most professional footballers were.

According to Get West London, Sean said to the Scottish Sun: “We’d a few sessions just doing ball work then progressing on. His [Paul Scholes’] technique was unbelievable.

“You could never turn your back on the training pitch. Even when you were going for a drink, you had to lower your head, or he’d hit you with the ball.

“All the senior pros at United were great. There’s a tight bond between the first team and youth players, they want to help you out. I’d go out after training to practise my free kicks.

“Paul gave us a bit of a head start as well, because he was our Under-19s manager for the Champions League too. I’d try to copy him and also David Beckham when I was really young.”

Sean Goss sadly left the Red Devils who rated him highly due to his desire to play first team football consistently as it looked difficult to break into the current squad at the club.

The midfielder is now at Rangers, on loan from his parent club, as he attempts to establish himself as a talented player and not just a youngster.

At 22 years of age, he’s perfectly set up to impress abroad before returning to London and blowing the Championship away.

Paul Scholes is certainly the ideal player to look up to for Goss, particularly as he plays in the same position and can learn directly from the legend’s game.

Whether Sean returns in the future to United as Paul Pogba did is yet to be seen but Jose Mourinho already has a young central midfielder in the form of Scott McTominay.

Man Utd legend blasts these two defensive stars

Manchester United legend Phil Neville has destroyed the club’s defensive partnership of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling following the result against Newcastle.

The Magpies managed to grab a 1-0 win over Jose Mourinho’s men in a devastating loss to the club due to the impact it had on the Premier League table.

League leaders Manchester City now hold a 16 point advantage over United who now must be concerned with the clubs below them that are chasing the Champions League spots in the table.

Both Jones and Smalling were involved in the defeat and were heavily criticised for their performances as frustrations continue to grow.

Neville, who once played as a defender for the Red Devils, got involved with the criticism and didn’t not hold back in his assessment of the English pair.

According to Give Me Sport, Phil said: “They have got the best defensive record because they have the best goalkeeper in the world in David De Gea and [Nemanja] Matic out in front who protects them really well.

“But the last two away games [against Tottenham and Newcastle], Smalling and Jones have been a disaster. Against Dele Alli and Harry Kane, they got bullied.

“Against Newcastle, did they make many mistakes? No, but they created a nervousness and a tension. They were making decisions that were strange.

“They were making decisions all day where you were thinking: ‘What are you doing?’ They brought these two as the best young centre-backs in England.”

Chris and Phil were once expected to be Manchester United’s first choice pairing when brought in as youngsters and whilst that may temporarily be true, no one would’ve thought this would be the case.

It’s fair to say neither player fulfilled their potential and there’s hints that Mourinho feels the same way as he brought in both Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof to solve the problem.

Unfortunately Bailly has suffered with a few injuries and Lindelof is of course adjusting to his new surroundings, although there were moments of brilliance from him.

One would expect that Eric and Victor will become the new centre-back partnership for United and it’s one that has a lot of potential but fans will be a little more skeptic this time around.

Man Utd legend blasts club's performance vs Newcastle

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has blasted his former team’s performance vs Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Jose Mourinho’s men lost 1-0 to the Magpies who were more determined and hungry for the result which helped further open the gap to the league leaders Manchester City to 16 points.

United are now surely too far behind to catch up with their fierce rivals and their attentions must turn towards solidifying their second place.

Any more similar results will certainly see them fall down the table as Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham all continue to chase the Champions League positions.

Neville believes that the talent is there for the Red Devils but they must fix their attitudes or mentality if they wish to eventually win the Premier League title.

According to Goal, Gary said on his podcast for Sky Sports: “The individual talent is there but to coordinate that into a team is Jose Mourinho’s job in the next few months. He has to make them into a team.

“They look like a team that play five per cent below the intensity that they can play at and should play at. That’s what Jose Mourinho has to do.

“He has to mould this talented group of players into a team that can come together and can win the title. Next season will be Jose’s third season and you would think in his mind, and in everyone’s minds, that he has to win it next season. They have to start preparing now.

“I still think they will finish second and they are still in the FA Cup and Champions League so there is a lot to play for, but they still have these moments where they let games drift.

“They miss chances, they are sloppy in the final third so many times and they have to improve that. They have to become killers in the final third and they are not at the moment.”

Gary Neville’s assessment isn’t far from the truth, most Manchester United fans believe their players don’t know what it truly means to represent the badge and therefore don’t fight for results.

Many believe the club’s winning mentality has practically evaporated and whilst the current squad of players are undoubtedly talented, there’s a real like of positive mentality.

Complacency consistently affects this squad who appear to think that they deserve a win simply because they represent United and seem to have forgotten that their opposition will always fight for a result.

The issue of gelling isn’t necessarily true as the players proved to be fluid earlier in the season and it’s probably more a case of a lack of balance in the team.

Man Utd legend tells Pogba to add this to his game

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has passed on some advice to Paul Pogba, telling him how he can improve his performances.

The Frenchman has perhaps unfairly come in for some criticism for his recent performances in central midfield with some fans claiming he lacks discipline.

Although he should certainly shoulder some blame, other supporters have pointed the finger at Jose Mourinho for failing to use him correctly.

Pogba has proven to be absolutely brilliant when playing in the 4-3-3 formation but seems to struggle when forced to play in the double pivot of a 4-2-3-1.

Neville believes that while this is true, the midfielder could add something else to his game to make him a better player for United.

Gary’s assessment of Paul as an individual is something that can be applied to other players in the Red Devils squad.

Some sections of fans have been absolutely disgusted with the club’s loss to Newcastle as they believe the quality of players are there and they’re simply not being used correctly.

A front four of Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial is as exciting as any on paper but for some reason they couldn’t take apart the relegation threatened opposition.

Lukaku had an extraordinary game in which he certainly didn’t deserve to be on the losing team but the others could’ve performed better perhaps.

Sanchez was impressive but was guilty of missing a chance as was Martial who was forced to play in the unnatural position of right wing.

Lingard meanwhile seems to have seen his purple patch of form come to an end and whilst he wasn’t poor, he could’ve been a bit more decisive as fans know he can be.

Kim Kardashian & Kanye West Join Chrissy Teigen & John Legend for Ellen DeGeneres' Birthday Bash

Ellen DeGeneres‘ birthday party on Saturday drew a who’s who of Hollywood — and, luckily, there was a photo booth on-site to document it all.

The TV host, who celebrated her 60th birthday on Jan. 26, recruited some of her famous friends to mark the milestone this weekend.

Kim Kardashian West and husband Kanye West were naturals in the photo booth — a staple of KarJenner bashes — posing alone, as well as with fellow celebrities.

“Mom & Dad,” the reality star — who recently welcomed her third child with West, a baby girl named Chicago, via surrogate — captioned a couple shot in their coordinating attire.

DeGeneres herself even retweeted a snap of the pair with another power couple, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend.

“Having the best birthday,” the talk show host wrote.

Teigen also shared several photos from the night out, including a full-length shot that showed off her baby bump in a flowing gown, as well as Legend’s suave blue suit.

Olivia Munn snagged a ton of pictures with fellow partygoers, including Jennifer Aniston, who crossed her arms and made a funny face for the photo op.

However, it was Meghan Trainor who got the most coveted photo: a silly shot with the birthday girl herself.

This is just the latest round of birthday wishes for DeGeneres rom A-list stars. Ever since the big day, DeGeneres’ show has been filled with surprise celebrity guests showing her their love.

Longtime friend Aniston stopped by to walk down memory lane with the woman of the hour, while Michelle Obama appeared on the talk show in her first interview since leaving the White House.

During a special two-hour episode, Sofia Vergara stopped by to wish the host a happy birthday — and give her an electric scooter to help ease the transition into her golden years. Jimmy Kimmel then figure-skated his way onto the stage, followed by Jamie Foxx, who showed up with a bottle of champagne for a special toast. The first hour wrapped up with Chance the Rapper, who surprised DeGeneres — “a truly special person” — with flowers.

But the best surprise came at the end of the show, when DeGeneres’ wife Portia de Rossi presented an incredibly thoughtful gift that brought the host to tears: de Rossi is building the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund next to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda — a center for education, tourism and further scientific research. (DeGeneres has been a longtime admirer of Fossey, a late scientist who studied the rare mountain gorilla in Rwanda.)

Man Utd legend admits he would rather play for Tottenham than Arsenal

Former Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand has admitted that he would rather play for Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspurs than Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.

The two fierce rivals clashed at Wembley with Spurs edging the match 1-0 after Harry Kane’s glorious header gave the home team the lead.

Ahead of the match there was a lot of talk about which London side is the better team at the moment and whether Pochettino’s men have started to turn the tide.

The media’s hype is similar to the claims that Manchester City have overtaken United as the better team in Manchester, especially after Sir Alex Ferguson dubbed them the noisy neighbours.

Ferdinand’s comments came ahead of the match between the two London clubs but it seems his opinion was vindicated but Red Devils’ fans will be glad their former player isn’t still playing.

According to Metro, Rio said to BT Sport: “If I’m a player now, and I sit there and base it purely on potential on where I’m going to be more successful in the coming years, I sway towards Spurs.

“Based on the potential in the squad and the balance of the squad. I don’t think the balance in Arsenal’s squad is there.”

After leaving Manchester United, Rio Ferdinand did in fact head back to a London club but it was QPR that he joined rather than Tottenham.

The former England international always admitted his heart was always in the nation’s capital despite all the love he had for Manchester.

Ferdinand also had a history of playing for West Ham and United’s arch-rivals Leeds whom Sir Alex Ferguson bought him from.

Rio in his prime would’ve certainly been a key player for Tottenham but he would’ve faced some stiff competition from the likes of Davison Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.

Either way, Red Devils’ supporters will just be happy to have enjoyed the Englishman at their club after his trophy laden years.

John Legend Teaches Gwyneth Paltrow How to Make the Chicken Wings That 'Chrissy Loves'

John Legend is sharing all his tips on how to make delicious — and Chrissy Teigen-approved — chicken wings.

In the debut episode of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Real Men Eat Goop video series, the 39-year-old “All of Me” singer stops by to teach the lifestyle guru how to make his mouth-watering recipe.

“Chrissy loves it, and I love making it,” Legend explained, before revealing his secret flavor weapon: plenty of Lawry’s Seasoned Salt.

And it turned out Paltrow was a huge fan of the seasoning herself.

“My dad was obsessed with it and I literally to this day cannot eat a baked potato without Lawry,” she gushed before later adding, “I didn’t know raw chicken could smell good.”

Legend also used Lawry’s Seasoned Salt in the flour mixture he used to dredge the wings in before it was time to fry them up.

But there’s one more thing that makes the singer’s chicken wings so special: his honey butter hot sauce, which he created with Teigen while she writing her cookbook Cravings.

“This seems like really good Valentine’s Day food,” Paltrow said after the chicken wings were ready to eat.

“Well, a lot of love in it,” Legend replied.

Paltrow also walked her fans through a “slightly goop-ified version” of the dish, before later admitting that “you kind of can never replace a fried wing.”

But her Korean baked chicken wings still got Legend’s seal of approval.

“Mmhmm, that’s really good,” he said in between bites of the tasty — and lightened-up — treat.

Revealed: Arsenal legend names the exact day Chelsea will sack Conte

Chelsea may sack Antonio Conte once they’re knocked out the Champions League.

That’s according to Paul Merson, who thinks that the Blues will wait until then, but if they cannot get past the La Liga leaders, they will have no choice but to once again sack a manager who only the season before has won them the title.

He also made it clear that Chelsea have issues in the season following their title win – and that they need to work on that.

“They have got big games coming up now,” Merson told Sky Sports’ The Debate.

“They have got West Brom at home and then they have got the FA Cup, then Barcelona and the two Manchester teams.

“Then it is Palace and then Barcelona.

“If they don’t win the two Manchester games and they don’t go through against Barcelona then I would be surprised if he is there at the next league game after the Barcelona second leg.

“It’s weird but that’s how it works at Chelsea – two years, give your best, win the league, we’ll move on and then go again.

“If Man City were on the same points as Man Utd the top five would be separated by five points and it would be the best league you’ve ever seen in your life.

“This would not be a bad title defence if Man City weren’t unbelievably good.

“There’s no way Chelsea could have matched that.”

Man City

As Merson claims, Man City have been brilliant this season, but it’s Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho who has really got under Conte’s skin, with the former Chelsea boss winning the war of words with Conte, who hasn’t seemed the same man since.

The Red Devils face Chelsea at the end of the month, and it remains to be seen if Conte will be in charge for that game – or if it will be his final game should the club be humiliated by their former manager.

However, if Conte does manage to steer Chelsea to victory against Barcelona, he may well hold onto his job for the rest of the season – yet the majority of people are under the impression once the season ends, he will lose his job.

Chrissy Teigen's Mad at John Legend for the Most Relatable Reason (He's a Phone Charger Thief!)

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are going through a bit of a power struggle in their relationship. Battery power, that is.

The 32-year-old model and cookbook author — who is expecting her second childa boy — scolded her husband on social media for swiping phone chargers.

“Yes @johnlegend I buy and leave all the phone chargers all around the house just so you can unplug them all and take them to work with you. all of them!” she tweeted on Wednesday. “I love that you love chargers! they’re all for you! I just love you that’s why I buy them. because you love them!”

Teigen then shared a photo of a portable charger shaped like a unicorn. “I’m buying this,” she declared, before daring her husband, “Take this one u thief.”

In true Teigen fashion, her tweets pointed to a problem that anyone with roommates can relate to.

Ruby Rose tagged her girlfriend Jessica Origliasso of The Veronicas and wrote, “lol .. You. You are why I need 50000 chargers on my rider.”

Actor Andy Richter also replied, “OMG SO F—ING SAME.”

Teigen’s internet commentary, as always, has fans cracking up. Just recently, the pregnant star joked that all babies, even hers, are monsters.

“This baby is sucking the life from me. Drinking my water, making me dry. Eating my food, making me hungry. Taking my health, making me sick,” she wrote on Twitter.

Why do we create these monsters they want us dead,” she jokingly added.

Teigen’s funny comment comes just days after she admitted that unlike others who lament about the pains of pregnancy, she actually likes being pregnant.

“It’s sick,” she said during an interview on Today. “People have all different types of pregnancies and I really prefer it. I think John prefers it. I’m happier. If anything, I’m just, like, a little bossier.”

She also revealed how excited she is to have a son. “They say that boys just love their mamas,” she explained, adding that her 21-month-old daughter Luna Simone “is such a daddy’s girl.”
