Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah this morning kept his cards close to his chest when questioned on the possibility of departing Anfield for European champions Real Madrid.
Big-money arrival
Egyptian wide-man Salah made his return to the Premier League during the summer, after Liverpool splashed out a fee that could eventually rise to 50 million Euro to bring the former Chelsea man in from Serie A outfit AS Roma.
And he has certainly not taken long to settle back into the rigours of the English game, having already popped up with an incredible 28 goals across all competitions to this point in the campaign.
Non-committal
Unsurprisingly, Salah’s sensational exploits have seen the African inevitably linked with a possible Liverpool departure, despite having only joined the Reds 6 months ago.
Spanish and European champions Real Madrid have been the side most heavily linked with a move for the 25-year-old, with Los Blancos known to be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements due to the struggles of both Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema this season.
Speaking in an interview with Marca earlier today, Salah was questioned on the possibility of him making the move to the Bernabeu in the future, with the 56-time capped Egyptian international remaining coy on the subject:
‘At the moment I am here.’
‘I want to concentrate on my team and finish the season very well.’
When drawn on the topic of La Liga, Salah revealed:
‘Yes, I follow it, I see some games. Not always, because sometimes they coincide with Liverpool fixtures, of course.’
‘It’s a good league, has top teams, and the way they play is very attractive.’
