Rafa Benitez’s side picked up an enormous three points thanks to a 1-0 win over the Red Devils.
The hero for the Magpies was midfielder Matt Ritchie. He drilled home a left footed shot after Chris Smalling gave away a penalty for diving.
The win have boosted Newcastle’s hopes of beating the drop.
