Three pillars of the economic platform of the last decade for the Republican Party were less government spending, lower deficits and policy certainty. Not any more.
Oh no, oh no, oh no.
This is the doomsday scenario all Arsenal fans were worried about when Olivier Giroud left the Gunners to join Chelsea in January.
On Tuesday afternoon, out of nowhere, Arsenal have confirmed that Alexandre Lacazette is injured.
And it’s a bad setback too: between four to six weeks.
And knowing how Arsenal’s injuries pan out, will this actually prove to be the end of Lacazette’s season?
The news was reported by Arsenal as follows:
Striker Alex Lacazette had an arthroscopy on his left knee in London on Tuesday morning.
The minor procedure was a success and he will now undergo a period of rehabilitation.
It is envisaged that he will return to the squad within four to six weeks.
We hope to see you back on the pitch soon, @LacazetteAlex https://t.co/wH94ZFZ3VH

Arsenal now have a major problem in their quest to win the Europa League this season.
New signing Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang is ineligible to play for Arsenal in this season’s UEL.
That’s after Auba’s previous club, Borussia Dortmund, dropped into the Europa League after being turfed out the Champions League.
Lacazette was all set to be Arsenal’s first choice striker for their Europa League campaign, but this knee injury update means that plan is scrapped.
Arsenal take on Swedish minnows Ostersunds on Thursday night in the last-32 of the competition. It now looks like Danny Welbeck will start up front for the Gunners in that key match.
Arsenal have been useless away from home this season. So will there be another shock on the cards on Thursday?
And can we kiss Arsenal’s 2018-19 Champions League hopes goodbye?
I'm told this was an ongoing problem that needed fixing – but a brutal blow for Wenger just before Europa League.

Absolutely nothing is going right for Lacazette at the minute, really hope he makes a quick recovery and this break gives him a chance to get his mind focused again.

Good job I didn't spend last night writing 1200 words on Lacazette playing in the Europa League.

It’s very hard to change people’s minds, especially when so many are already committed partisans.
Republican Congressman Devin Nunes—unhappy with his ability to spread false stories only through press conferences, television appearances, and “memos” drafted up by his staff working in tandem with the White House—had to come up with a new way to spread more lies more quickly. So he turned to his friends for inspiration.
The campaign committee for House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes has been funding a website billed as a local news outlet.
The site, CARepublican.com, features headlines ranging from national politics stories to state and local matters and college football. Many of the posts link out to conservative sites like National Review and The Federalist, and the Facebook page for the site labels it a media/news company that is focused on “delivering the best of US, California, and Central Valley news, sports, and analysis.”
Working in exactly the same way as fake news sites created by Russia sources previous to the election, Nunes sprinkled his fake news site with stories in praise of Devin Nunes and attacking Democratic representatives.
Resembling a local, conservative news site, “The California Republican” is classified on Facebook as a “media/news company” and claims to deliver “the best of US, California, and Central Valley news, sports, and analysis.”
But Nunes’s site isn’t local and it’s not news—except the news that it’s another Nunes-generated fake. And once the truth about “The California Republican” came out, the site went down.
“Due to heavy traffic and an attack on our servers, you may encounter an error message when attempting to reach The Republican,” a message on the Facebook page for the “California Republican” read on Sunday evening. “We apologize for the inconvenience.”

Facebook is going to create a new news section in its video streaming platform Facebook Watch to feature breaking news stories. Last year, Donald Trump, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and U.S. Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz wasted no time trying to pin the death of a border patrol agent on Mexicans, with Trump tweeting that “we will seek out and bring to justice those responsible. We will, and must, build the Wall!” Gross … and fake news. The FBI interviewed nearly 700 people and in a report released this month, stated that it found no evidence that the agent was attacked by Mexicans or anyone else for that matter. Seems clear enough, unless you’re reading Fox News:

Don’t let the facts get in your way, guys. It must be noted that the National Border Patrol Council, the Border Patrol’s official union, endorsed Trump in 2016 and has been colluding with anti-immigrant organizations for years. Among other things, the union records a podcast out of Breitbart studios, and according to a 2015 report, “the Texas chapter of the National Border Patrol Council honored Breitbart Texas … and its Managing Director, Brandon Darby, with an appreciation award for their work in ‘exposing the realities of law enforcement along America’s southern border.’”
Well, “the realities of law enforcement along America’s southern border” actually include border agents purposefully destroying lifesaving jugs of water left in the desert and then prosecuting the good samaritans who leave them there, but the union most likely won’t mention that during their next podcast. Their mission is an anti-immigrant one, and Fox News’s mission is to defend Donald Trump at all costs. The unfortunate headline in the tweet shows what happens when the two marry without any regard to the facts.
