‘Arsenal: Tottenham’s Harry Kane was too fat’

Tottenham beat Arsenal 1-0

Spurs fans are still enjoying themselves.

On Saturday at Wembley, Tottenham beat Arsenal 1-0 in the north London derby.

The win boosted Tottenham’s hopes of finishing the season in the top four.

As for Arsenal, are they now out of the running? The Gunners are seven points behind Spurs in the race for a Champions League berth.

Harry Kane was again the hero for Spurs last weekend.

A left-wing cross was headed home by Kane for the only goal of the game.

‘Arsenal: Harry Kane was too fat’

Tottenham are now gearing up for Tuesday’s Champions League last-16 first-leg match at Juventus.

Ahead of the game, Corriere della Sera have spoken to former Arsenal star Liam Brady about Spurs.

Brady has used the occasion to explain why Kane, who started his career at Arsenal, was allowed to leave:

Unfortunately yes. He was chubby and not very athletic, but we got it wrong. Even Tottenham loaned him out to the lower leagues three or four times though.

On previewing the Juve game, Brady bigged up Tottenham’s chances of going through:

Juve are not favourites, it’s 50-50.

Tottenham has well organised, they have a good Coach and three great forwards in [Christian] Eriksen, [Dele] Alli and [Harry] Kane. You need to stop them in midfield to prevent those three from hurting you.

Does Juve’s attack convince me? Not completely, because I think we’ve already seen the best of Higuain. It’s hard for him to make the difference in Europe, he’s too static.

How QPR missed the chance to sign Tottenham’s Harry Kane (BBC Video)

QPR & Tottenham’s Harry Kane

A brilliant story was told by Nedum Onuoha on BBC radio on Sunday.

Now 31-years-old, the former Man City defender is plying his trade for QPR in the Championship.

And according to Onuoha, the story around Loftus Road is that QPR once had the chance to sign Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

Onuoha claimed that when Harry Redknapp was the QPR manager, Rangers had the option to close a deal for Kane.

QPR felt that the striker wasn’t clinical enough in front of goal so they passed.

What a terrible decision!

Tottenham 1 – Arsenal 0

Tottenham boosted their own top four hopes with a north London derby win at Wembley on Saturday. And, simultaneously left Arsenal in a world of worry about their league position.

Spurs moved up to third with the victory and can now look forward to the rest of the season, Champions League and FA Cup, with renewed optimism.

For Arsenal it now looks like being a case of putting their eggs in the basket of the Europa League, in order to seal a spot in the Champions League next season.

Harry Kane does it again!

Some Arsenal fans ridiculed Harry Kane when he first emerged on the scene.

It seems unlikely that any Gooners doubt the Spurs striker these days, thanks to his record breaking exploits and consistent goals against Arsenal.

Kane simply loves playing against the Arsenal, a club he was released from as an 8-year-old.

On Saturday, Kane’s latest winner for Spurs versus Arsenal came in the 49th minute. From a Ben Davies cross.

Harry Kane Trolls Piers Morgan

Spurs fans have plenty of reasons to love Harry Kane.

His goal exploits have emerged as on par with Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi.

Whilst there is little doubt that Harry Kane loves Tottenham as much as their own fans.

Tonight, Spurs supporters have another reason to hail their number 10, for his social media game.

On Saturday morning, Arsenal’s most famous fan Piers Morgan suggested that Pierre Emerick Aubameyang would enjoy the derby more than Kane.

Cue an epic Kane response on Twitter.

In fairness to Morgan, he didn’t take today’s 1-0 defeat and Kane’s goal lying down, although what sort of response could he legitimately bring to the table!

Tottenham boost: Real Madrid fear of missing out on Harry Kane

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague claims that Real Madrid feel as though they will be unable to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane this summer.

The Spanish giants understand that the 23-year-old has a strong affinity to Spurs and Mauricio Pochettino and is currently not interested in leaving North London.

Instead, Los Blancos may well turn their attention to their prime target, Chelsea winger Eden Hazard.

Kane’s connection

Balague claims that despite interest from the defending European champions, it is currently unlikely that Kane will be departing Tottenham this summer.

The club are preparing to move into their impressive new 62,000 seater stadium next season, with Spurs desperate for their vice-captain to lead them out for the first game.

Balague said:

“Are they going for Harry Kane this summer? There will be suggestions, there will be rumours but they think Harry Kane will not leave Tottenham this summer.

At the moment they are not convinced he will move in the summer, with the emotional link to Spurs and to Mauricio Pochettino, but also while Cristiano is there Harry Kane has not got much to do.

In any case, Real Madrid may use Harry Kane to distract from the focus of their real attention which is Chelsea forward Eden Hazard.”

Best in Europe

Ahead of Saturday lunchtime’s highly-anticipated North London derby, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has labelled Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane the best striker in Europe.

Wenger when asked if there is a better striker in Europe than Spurs’ talisman:

“If you look at the numbers then, no.

I can talk and talk and talk, but it’s the numbers which will show that. The best way to defend is to have the numbers and take the game to them.”

Meanwhile, the French coach also commented on his own strikers, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette:

“Our strikers are top class as well and we want them to express their talent.”

Former PL star details why Harry Kane is the world’s best centre-forward

World’s greatest

It’s been another big season for Tottenham’s Harry Kane and many are now suggesting that the player is the best centre-forward in the world.

The Englishman has notched 22 goals so far this season, only 7 away from his total last season with plenty of time to spare.

Not only that, he has performed on every level this season, including the Champions League in which Spurs well and truly impressed in the group stages.

That has lead to big comparisons between the best in world football, having outscored anyone and everyone in 2017.

Now, former Premier League star Robbie Savage has detailed why Kane is the best centre-forward in the world.

“Kane is the ultimate package as a No.9 even though none of his attributes are exceptional,” Savage explained.

“He is quick, but not lightning fast.

“He is good in the air, but perhaps not the greatest header of a ball.

“His hold-up play is not quite up to the level of Mark Hughes in his heyday, although I would add that part of Kane’s game against Manchester United last month, and the way he brought others into the game, was exceptional.

“His finishing, off either foot, is fantastic – although the stats say he does not have the highest strike rate in terms of shots-per-goal ratio.

“Of course, I’m not saying Kane is better than Lionel Messi, Neymar or Cristiano Ronaldo.

“They are all-around magicians, not just strikers who are the focal point of an attack.”
