Top class star makes surprise claim, says Spurs star is on the same level as Messi

Tottenham take on Juventus in the Champions League later tonight and Giorgio Chiellini has been talking up Harry Kane’s ability ahead of the clash.

The Italian centre-back revealed that the England international is on par with Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar right now.

He said: “Kane is now among the elite players in the world. Over the last years, with the goals he has scored, he has been on the level of the best. Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar — Kane has been on that level. He is one of those players that is irreplaceable – and I am sure that Tottenham will be doing all they can to make sure he stays.”

There is no doubt that Kane is the best striker around Europe right now but to claim that he is on a similar level to that of Lionel Messi is frankly surprising. The Barcelona superstar is simply in a league of his own.

Kane is a world-class player who would improve most teams around the world but it seems that the Juventus star is overrating his opponent for tonight.

Tottenham will be hoping for an away win tonight and they will want to take a lead back to Wembley for the second leg. The Londoners have been in superb form lately and they will be full of confidence for this one.

Pochettino’s men recently beat Manchester United and Arsenal in the league.

Major blow for Tottenham, this top class star won't play against Juventus tomorrow

Major blow for Tottenham, this top class star won’t play against Juventus tomorrow – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Tottenham star Toby Alderweireld is all set to miss his side’s Champions League clash against Juventus tomorrow.

According to Telegraph, the Belgian defender is not a part of the squad travelling to Turin. Apparently, the player has been left in England so that he can work on his fitness.

Alderweireld has recovered from his hamstring injury and he made his comeback in the FA Cup last week. However, Pochettino decided to leave him out of the side for the North London derby as well.

It will be interesting to see how the player reacts to these omissions. Previously, Kyle Walker was also left out of some big games and the England international forced his way out of the club because of that.

Alderweireld has not agreed to a new deal at Spurs yet. If the Belgian does not sign an extension soon, Spurs might have to consider selling him at the end of this season.

The report from Telegraph adds that the player’s agent has refused to comment on the situation.

Alderweireld’s absence will be a big blow for Spurs in a crucial game. The Belgian is their best defender and he could have made a big difference against the likes of Dybala and Higuain.

World class Man City star's agent reveals his client's desire to play in this league

World class Man City star’s agent reveals his client’s desire to play in this league – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne’s agent feels that the midfielder is likely to end his career in the MLS.

Initially, the player was expected to return to Belgium once he is past his peak. But it seems that De Bruyne is quite fond of America and wants to play there at some point in his career.

However, the Manchester City fans have nothing to worry about as the move is not going to happen anytime soon. The £52million signing signed a new £300,000-a-week deal last month that will keep him at the Etihad until 2023.

De Bruyne has been the best player in the Premier League this season and he will be hoping to win the Champions League with Manchester City before leaving England.

The Belgian could also be a target for Chinese clubs but his agent Patrick De Koster does not see his client moving to China in future.

Patrick De Koster said: “I think Kevin will end his career in the USA rather than in Belgium. He has already been to America many times on holiday, and he loves the country and its culture. He said goodbye to his bachelor life in Las Vegas, and we have often spoken about him ending his career in the MLS. He hasn’t yet had any offers from American clubs because they know it is not worth bothering as he is at the peak of his career. Clubs in China will probably look longingly at him, but I can’t see him going over to play there.”

The 26-year-old playmaker has scored 11 goals and has bagged 17 assists in all competitions for Manchester City so far this season. He is one of the main reasons why City are now firm favourites to win the league title this year.

Mauricio Pochettino admits this top class Tottenham star is a 'nasty' player

Mauricio Pochettino admits this top class Tottenham star is a ‘nasty’ player – originally posted on Sportslens.com

Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has attracted a lot of criticism following his dive against Liverpool on Sunday.

The England international was booked immediately and Mauricio Pochettino believes that Alli’s dive was a simple matter of football trickery.

He also added that the Tottenham midfielder is a little bit nasty as a player.

Pochettino claimed that football is about tricking one’s opponent and a few decades ago players were appreciated when they managed to trick the officials.

He said: “Dele is not perfect. Nobody is perfect. He is a clever boy. He is a little bit nasty. Football is a creative sport in which you need the talent that grows in a very intelligent person, a very smart brain.”

Alli has already faced a backlash from the fans on social media and Pochettino’s comments are likely to provoke more reaction from the fans. Also, it might encourage the player to dive more in future.

The former MK Dons midfielder is a world-class talent and he is more than capable of making a difference on the pitch without having to cheat.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the future but Pochettino’s comments are unlikely to go down well with the rival fans for now. Also, the introduction of VAR could spell trouble for players looking to trick the match officials in future.
